Grange Month 2012- Thanks!

Happy May!
I hope you all had an exciting and productive April I just wanted to the take the time to thank everyone how helped me with Grange Month 2012. Thank you to those who contributed, re-tweeted, shared on Facebook, or just came everyday to read what I had to say. April was my best month ever for unique hits to my blog, so I thank you for coming and reading my reasons why I love the Grange.

Grange Month 2012: Reason #30- What are you waiting for?


We have come to the end of April and the end of Grange Month 2012. Over the past two years I have written on this blog of approximately 65 reasons to join the Grange. I have done my best to highlight some of what I think are the best reasons to join, but they are not the only ones. Other people you ask may have different reasons.

I guess the only thing left to say is, are you interested in joining? In today's society many people are looking for a great way to give back to their communities and to develop relationships with other people in their neighborhoods and towns. Grange can help you do that. When you join Grange, you join a family of people who share your values and want to bring about a better world for everyone. The only question that remains is: what are you waiting for?

 REASON #28 Emembership

This is a repeat but worth mentioning again! Like what you are reading about the Grange but not sure you can fit regular meetings into your schedule or just want to support this great organization? Then Emembership is right for you! Emembership allows you to receive many of the benefits of Grange membership in a way that might fit better in to your life. You receive the discounts and other benefits of Grange membership, plus the National Grange newsletters, including the New Grange and View from the Hill. This is a way for you to be a part of the Grange and support our mission even if there is not a local Grange in your area. Becoming an Emember could be the first step to joining an actual Grange, you may realize that you want to take on a greater role in your community, that is great! Maybe you might even want to start a Grange in you area!  Emembership gives you the opportunity to preview Grange membership but to get the full experience you have to join a community Grange, trust me it will be one of the best choices you have made in your life!

One the exciting things that Granges do is create working relationships with other organizations around them. Whether it is Garden Clubs, FFA, 4-H, Lions Clubs, VFW, etc, Granges work in tandem with other groups that work for the bettermentof their communities. An example of this is the partnership that the Massachusetts State Grange has developed with the FFA and 4-H. Not only does this partnership involve monetary donations but also joint programming. The three organizations will hold a Ag Youth Day in May with workshops about different aspects of agriculture. Partnership only makes the groups stronger and helps to create stronger communities as well!

One of the great things about being part of an organization that has been around for 145 years is the historical foundation of the organization. The Grange has been involved with many important aspects of our country in that time period. Between the Granger Laws of the late 1800s or the push for rural broadband internet today, the Grange has been involved. Our history gives us the ability to make connections with other organizations and with people in the community and nation. When you have a strong historical foundation to build on it only makes the organization stronger and allows for even greater growth!
