Happy May!
I hope you all had an exciting and productive April I just wanted to the take the time to thank everyone how helped me with Grange Month 2012. Thank you to those who contributed, re-tweeted, shared on Facebook, or just came everyday to read what I had to say. April was my best month ever for unique hits to my blog, so I thank you for coming and reading my reasons why I love the Grange.
You can continue to see all the posts from this year by clicking this link (http://mapoliticaljunkie.blogspot.com/search/label/Grange%20Month%202012).
I am taking a day or two off from blogging and then I will be back with my regular scheduled content, which will probably have a few bits and bobs of Grange in them but will get back to the normal topics of this site!
Thanks and have a great day!

- Hello! Welcome to my blog! This blog is like me, sort of random but full of ideas. In these pages you will find things I enjoy, occasionally my opinions on things, and usually a recipe or two. You will also find a travel log from my adventures studying in England 2010-2011. Please note, the opinions expressed on this blog are mine alone and do not represent the opinions of any other person or organization.

Grange Month 2012: Reason #30- What are you waiting for?
Grange Month 2012: Reason #30- What are you waiting for?
We have come to the end of April and the end of Grange Month 2012. Over the past two years I have written on this blog of approximately 65 reasons to join the Grange. I have done my best to highlight some of what I think are the best reasons to join, but they are not the only ones. Other people you ask may have different reasons.
I guess the only thing left to say is, are you interested in joining? If you are send me as email at mapoliticaljunkie2011@gmail.com or leave a comment below and I can set you up with someone from your area who can help you find your nearest Grange.I hope you do because I know that it can be a positive thing in your life!

Grange Month 2012: Reason #29- A Decision You Will Not Regret
Grange Month 2012: Reason #29- A Decision You Will Not Regret
In today's society many people are looking for a great way to give back to their communities and to develop relationships with other people in their neighborhoods and towns. Grange can help you do that. When you join Grange, you join a family of people who share your values and want to bring about a better world for everyone. The only question that remains is: what are you waiting for?
Are you already a Granger? What are your reasons for why people should join the Grange? I want to know! I want to end Grange month with other peoples voices besides my own. Send me an email at mapoliticaljunkie2011@gmail.com, with your first name and state and why you think people should join the Grange! I am going to include these an upcoming post, so please let me know your reasons!! I cannot wait to hear them!

Grange Month 2012: Reason #26-Community Partnerships
Grange Month 2012: Reason #26-Community Partnerships
One the exciting things that Granges do is create working relationships with other organizations around them. Whether it is Garden Clubs, FFA, 4-H, Lions Clubs, VFW, etc, Granges work in tandem with other groups that work for the bettermentof their communities. An example of this is the partnership that the Massachusetts State Grange has developed with the FFA and 4-H. Not only does this partnership involve monetary donations but also joint programming. The three organizations will hold a Ag Youth Day in May with workshops about different aspects of agriculture. Partnership only makes the groups stronger and helps to create stronger communities as well!

Grange Month 2012: Reason #25- Building on a Strong Historical Foundation
Grange Month 2012: Reason #25- Building on a Strong Historical Foundation
One of the great things about being part of an organization that has been around for 145 years is the historical foundation of the organization. The Grange has been involved with many important aspects of our country in that time period. Between the Granger Laws of the late 1800s or the push for rural broadband internet today, the Grange has been involved. Our history gives us the ability to make connections with other organizations and with people in the community and nation. When you have a strong historical foundation to build on it only makes the organization stronger and allows for even greater growth!
